Mastercard and L'Oréal, two industry giants, have joined forces to create a revolutionary credit card tailored specifically for beauty entrepreneurs and creatives. The L'Oréal Mastercard BusinessCard is now available in Mexico through Clara, a leading payment platform in Latin America. This innovative tool aims to bridge the gap between beauty professionals, including creators, independent stylists, salon owners, and entrepreneurs, and the digital marketplace. The card offers a range of benefits, such as discounts, points for purchases, business trainings, and a generous $150 welcome bonus. This partnership addresses a significant challenge: 90% of business-to-business transactions among small retailers in Latin America and the Caribbean are still conducted through checks, bank transfers, and cash, increasing the risk of unlawful gain. By providing access to L'Oréal Academy trainings and exclusive educational opportunities, the card empowers beauty professionals to invest in their craft, grow their businesses, and thrive in the digital economy. Mastercard's commitment to bringing small and medium enterprises into the digital economy is further emphasized by Mark Barnett, global head of small and medium enterprises. The company plans to expand the program into new markets across the region with additional financial partners in the future. This collaboration comes on the heels of L'Oréal's recent acquisition of the House of Creed in a $4 billion deal with Kering and the exclusive license for 50 years to the Gucci fragrance and beauty business, solidifying its position as a leading player in the beauty industry.
