LG Unveils Revolutionary UltraGear Evo Gaming Monitors with 5K AI Upscaling
Get ready to level up your gaming experience with LG's groundbreaking UltraGear Evo lineup, set to revolutionize the gaming display market. This cutting-edge series, unveiled ahead of CES 2026, introduces a range of monitors that redefine the boundaries of gaming visuals. With 5K AI upscaling, these monitors offer unparalleled clarity and immersion, ensuring gamers can enjoy their favorite titles with stunning visuals.
The UltraGear Evo lineup features three flagship models: the 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B, each delivering exceptional performance in their respective categories. The 27GM950B, the smallest of the trio, boasts the world's first 5K New MiniLED display with improved blooming control, minimizing halo effects for a truly immersive gaming experience.
LG's MiniLED technology takes center stage with 'Zero Optical Distance,' ensuring minimal gap between LEDs and the panel. This innovation, coupled with 2,304 local dimming zones, delivers exceptional contrast and vivid highlights, reaching a peak brightness of 1,250 nits. The 1ms GtG response time and 165Hz refresh rate at 5K resolution further enhance the gaming experience, with the option to scale up to 330Hz at QHD resolution.
The 39GX950B, a 39-inch curved OLED panel in 21:9 ultrawide format, offers the vertical height of a 32-inch screen. With a 1500R curve and LG Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology, it promises improved brightness, color accuracy, and panel longevity. The OLED panel delivers deep blacks and vibrant colors, with a DualMode switch offering 165Hz at 5K2K and 330Hz at WFHD, along with a lightning-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response.
Both the 27GM950B and 39GX950B incorporate a new on-device AI solution, which enhances content in real-time before it reaches the panel, ensuring 5K-class clarity without the need for GPU upgrades. This AI technology extends beyond upscaling, offering AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound, elevating the overall gaming experience.
Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, emphasizes the significance of the UltraGear Evo lineup, stating, 'This marks a turning point in gaming display performance, ending compromises. With industry-first 5K AI upscaling, we ensure gamers can enjoy high-resolution visuals, clarity, and immersion, regardless of their preferences.'
The 52G930B, the largest monitor in the lineup, is the world's largest 5K2K gaming monitor, offering 5K2K resolution at 240Hz with consistent response times in-game. With a 1000R curve and a vertical viewing height comparable to a 42-inch display, it provides an expansive 12:9 panoramic view, 33% wider than standard 16:9 UHD monitors.
The UltraGear Evo lineup will be showcased at CES 2026, offering visitors an immersive experience through two zones: the 'Dream Setup' inspired by Reddit gaming communities and a SimCraft-powered racing simulation featuring the new 39-inch GX9.
Additionally, the UltraGear™ GX7 (27GX790B) will be available for purchase on the opening day of CES 2026. This 27-inch gaming monitor boasts a QHD Primary RGB Tandem OLED display, 540Hz refresh rate, and Dual Mode (HD 720Hz), meeting the demands of avid gamers.
