Ubisoft Buys March of Giants from Amazon
Ubisoft has announced the acquisition of March of Giants, the title originally developed at Amazon’s Montreal Games studio. The March of Giants team will integrate with Ubisoft to continue developing the free-to-play game and is currently focused on its next major update.
March of Giants places players in the shoes of colossal combatants within a ruined urban battlefield powered by early-20th-century technology. This 4v4 tactical MOBA pits teams against one another as players push through lanes, command squads of smaller enemies, and deploy Battleworks—trenches, tanks, turrets, and bunkers—to defeat the opposing side. The game blends real-time strategy elements with lane-based skirmishing, demanding large-scale coordination and mastery of the towering heroes that populate its roster.
The development team comprises seasoned veterans, including two former Ubisoft leaders connected to some of the company’s most notable franchises. Alex Parizeau serves as Senior Production Lead and previously ran Ubisoft Toronto, where he oversaw several major AAA projects. Xavier Marquis, Creative Director, was the original mind behind Rainbow Six Siege. Their combined experience, passion, and expertise are expected to shape March of Giants as it moves forward under Ubisoft.
