Unlock Your Future: Join the CRNP Residency Program! (2026)

Nurse Practitioner Residency Program Returns with Enhanced Opportunities

The CRNP Residency Program is back and better than ever! Applications are now open for the second year of this innovative initiative, offering a unique pathway to excellence in healthcare.

Primary Health Network is committed to addressing the critical need for healthcare providers while fostering recruitment and retention. This year's program introduces a comprehensive curriculum designed to empower nurse practitioners and improve health outcomes in underserved areas.

Here's a breakdown of the program's structure:

  • Precepted Continuity Clinics (40%): Immerse yourself in hands-on primary care experiences, providing direct patient interaction and clinical skills development.
  • Specialty Rotations (20%): Explore diverse specialties like pediatrics, psychiatry, women's health, urgent care, and telemedicine, gaining expertise in various healthcare settings.
  • Mentored Clinics (20%): Receive supervised guidance in acute and episodic care, ensuring a strong foundation in managing common medical conditions.
  • Didactic Education (20%): Engage in classroom learning through lectures, case studies, and laboratory sessions tailored to Family Health Centers, enhancing your clinical knowledge and decision-making abilities.

This one-year salaried residency program commences in September 2026 and concludes in August 2027. Two residents are selected annually, and employment with Primary Health Network awaits successful completion of the program.

Throughout the residency, residents will connect with a nationwide network of new nurse practitioners, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. They will also have the opportunity to participate in 'Project ECHO,' an evidence-based learning model that facilitates collaboration with multidisciplinary specialists, preparing residents for complex healthcare scenarios.

Primary Health Network emphasizes the program's focus on equipping students with the tools to excel in collaborative healthcare environments, ultimately benefiting the communities they serve.

Eligible candidates include Family Nurse Practitioners who completed their programs after August 2025 and are licensed in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The application process involves online submissions, phone screenings, onsite interviews, and final selections. Required documents include a completed application, three letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.

Primary Health Network's commitment to investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals is evident in this program's relaunch. By nurturing the development of skilled nurse practitioners, the network aims to build stronger, healthier communities for all.
